After Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 6, the older Galaxy Watch 4 is now receiving the latest Wear OS 5 software version. With this, Samsung ended a long-running beta program for this watch and rolled out stable and better-performing One UI 6 Watch firmware. The new software provides all the goodies of the new Watch 7 and gives an extra boost to this 2021 flagship smartwatch. Some of these features have been inherited from the Galaxy Watch 7 wearable. It applies to both Galaxy Watch 4 & Watch 4 Classic variants.
For the Watch 4, the company includes some new health features like daily workout goals with exercise analysis, sleep analysis, energy score, wellness tips, and some new custom workouts. Further, notable changes have been made to the new font, notification panel, battery protection, improved tiles, and universal gestures. The most trending Samsung Galaxy AI functions have made their way to this fourth-gen model.
The users who participated in the beta testing program can now get this stable One UI 6 Watch update. The non-beta users will receive it in the coming days or weeks. The latest R890XXU1IXK1 firmware number has been identified for this new version. It is 245MB in size and the users in South Korea, the US, and Germany can install it. To download the Wear OS 5 update, go to the Galaxy Wearable app, and check for a stable version.
