The Blood Glucose monitoring function for Galaxy watches has been a pending feature for a long time. In recent times, Samsung hasn’t mentioned it anywhere, but that could change anytime soon. The official spokesperson from Samsung at Galaxy Tech Forum in San Jose mentions the feature will soon land on supported Galaxy watches. Furthermore, the function is in progress and users can use it without needing any other equipment or needle. It is really good progress by the company that users can monitor their blood glucose levels right from the gadget.
Here is what Samsung’s senior vice president Dr. Hon Pak said in an interview with Forbes. “What I’m really excited about is our team, as you may have assumed, we are working on a non-invasive optically-based continuous glucose monitor. I can’t tell you the time [of the launch], but I’m very excited about the progress we are making, and this, if we do it right, will be a game-changer.”

With the Galaxy Watch 6, we assumed the company would launch this feature, but it was postponed for a year. Now, we think the function will land with the Galaxy Watch 8 and Watch Ultra 2 series watches. Later, all the previous smartwatches will be received via software update. With this feature, Samsung has surpassed the Apple Watch Series in having a unique medical function.
