Galaxy Fit 3 Gets Lock Screen Function in New Update

In the last few months, Galaxy Fit 3 didn’t receive any firmware update, nor did it receive monthly security patch ups. Now in a new year, finally, Samsung has rolled out new software for the smart band. In the new version, the company added an essential feature to it. The first one is that users can now lock the main screen of the band with different lock screen methods. It is not clear how many security methods it will support, but one user says it has used pattern and PIN to lock and unlock its Galaxy Fit 3.

The lock screen feature was requested by various users in the past. It was users’ demand on Galaxy Fit 2, and later on Fit 3, and now Samsung has listened to them to introduce this function. It is not the first fitness tracker to have this function. Xiaomi Mi Band 7, Band 8, Honor Band, Huawei Band, and many other fitness bands come with the lock screen. On a Fit 3, you can simply use a pattern or four-digit PIN to protect your gadget. It is not the phone or smartwatch, so there is no way to introduce a long password or other methods on the band.

Galaxy Fit 3 Update

The latest March firmware, starting with R390XXU0AYB2, is now rolling out in South Korea with the file size of 26.55MB. The rollout for other countries will start soon, and you will get the new lock screen function. To install new software, you have to open the Galaxy Wearable app, and update it to the latest app version from the Play Store. Later, open Wearable app, go to band Settings, head to Band Software Update, and then tap on Download & Install.
