Samsung has today announced to stop three more major Galaxy devices from software updates. These are the best-selling smartphones of the year 2020, but now they are more than four years old. As per Samsung’s old software policy, it will stop providing new security updates after four years. They have now completed their terms, so Samsung has decided to stop new patches. Galaxy A71 and both other devices have received One UI 5.1 version, and since then there have been no major Android versions for them.
Further, the company has promised to deliver security patches in critical situations. If the devices found critical flaws in software code, or there is an emergency, then they could see new fix patches. Previously, the company has terminated its most popular Galaxy S10 series & Note 10 series from the software list. For the new devices in 2024, Samsung has declared to provide four years of major Android versions and five years of monthly security patches. Do you use any of these Galaxy devices in this new year?
