Samsung has ended software support for some mid-range & high-end smartphones. It applies to all the devices in every category. The company has declared a roadmap for Indian users, which clearly mentions eligible devices to receive new major firmware. It excludes Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 FE, Note 20, Galaxy A31, Galaxy A51 & Galaxy A71 devices.
These are all popular smartphones in recent years, though they have been opted. Samsung has a policy to provide three-year major software support. All these were launched in 2020, so they are not eligible to get it.
It doesn’t mean they will not receive monthly security updates. Samsung will release regular security patches to them for the next two years.
