Samsung has confirmed it will provide seven years of software support for the newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 6 & Flip 6. After the Galaxy S24 series, these are the new devices from the company to receive such massive support for the next few years. It means for a full 7 years, users can demand new One UI firmware upgrades for their foldable phones. It also includes monthly security patches released by both Samsung & Google.
At launch, Fold 6 & Flip 6 are running on the Android 14-based One UI 6.1.1 version and soon they will get One UI 7 version. If we are correct, the last major software update for both devices will end in 2031 or with Android 21. Sadly, the company has not listed the previous Galaxy Fold 5 & Flip 5 in the support list. Still, the predecessor gets new updates for the next five years. Are you planning to buy a foldable phone because of huge software support?
